We have therefore developed a complete range of plastic safety knives suitable for food contact and detectable. But what is a food-grade and detectable material?
Material suitable for food contact is a plastic that cannot alter the quality of foodstuffs. Indeed, several strict tests ensure that no harmful substances migrate into the food. For our products, we have chosen to use a naturally food-grade material where no additives need to be added. In addition to the food contact suitability of our plastics, we ensure the detectability of our safety knives. The detection of foreign bodies during food processing and packaging plays a major role in guaranteeing product safety and quality. All our safety knives contain metallic fillers that allow for quick identification of every fragment of a safety knife, in case of breakage or loss, using metal detectors.
To guarantee to our customers that our safety knives comply with current regulations, we have had them tested by the LNE (Laboratoire National de métrologie et d’Essais). These tests are performed on all components of each knife (blades, raw materials, springs, etc.). You can find the food contact certificates on our website.
The Mure & Peyrot blue knife range
This range stands out due to its blue color. There are almost no blue-colored foods, which is why this shade makes the knives more easily identifiable by operators or by a camera in the event of tool loss, regardless of the type of food concerned.
